With its foam core, thick sturdy rails, and its length at 8 feet, the size and construction of the Scott Burke Soft Surfboard make catching waves a breeze and provide extra stability for beginners, who are still learning to balance and stand up for the first time and the soft foam deck will even cushion the fall for those first timers a whole lot better than a fiberglass board! Don’t write it off as just a beginner board though, because both beginners and advanced riders all love the long smooth rides with minimal paddling effort that can be achieved with a foam deck longboard even when the waves are small! The 8’ Scott Burke has an EPS foam core with 3 laminated wood stringers for a structured yet flexible, lightweight core and an XPE/IXPE deck skin that provides a texture that’s easier to grip to than a fiberglass board. A traction pad comes already attached to the deck to provide extra footing help once you’re up on that wave and a PU surf leash is included so you don’t get separated from your board when the ride is over.
